A year in the garden

From first planting
to the last pick.

South Texas gives us two beautiful growing seasons. Here is the general rhythm of the garden—always guided by weather and what the field is ready to give.

  1. Young tomato plants growing in the garden

    August – October

    Plant & tend

Fall tomatoes, peppers and flowers go into the ground. We stake, irrigate and care for each row as the garden fills in.

  2. Fresh orange marigold bouquets at fall harvest

    October – January

    Fall harvest

Vine-ripe tomatoes, peppers, bouquets, marigolds, zinnias, sunflowers and other seasonal flowers are ready.

  3. Healthy garden rows growing toward spring harvest

    February – March

    Spring begins

We prepare beds and establish the next round of onions, tomatoes, peppers, melons and flowers.

  4. Fresh red and gold cherry tomatoes from the spring garden

    April – June

    Spring harvest

Onions, pickles, canning tomatoes, red tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, cantaloupes and colorful watermelons come in as warmer days return.

How we grow

Sustainable choices.
Healthy harvests.

For us, sustainability means taking care of the soil and water while growing fresh food our neighbors can feel good about bringing home.

01

Sustainable by practice

We combine proven conventional and organic practices thoughtfully, using each tool only where it helps us grow a healthy crop responsibly.

02

Build healthy soil

We brew our own compost tea and use fish-based plant nutrition to support living soil, strong roots and our goal of flavorful, nutrient-dense crops.

03

Save water

Drip irrigation places water near the root zone, helping reduce waste and making every drop work harder in the South Texas heat.

04

Protect the ground

Minimum-tillage methods help preserve soil structure, reduce unnecessary disturbance and keep each garden bed productive.

05

Grow for pollinators

Our flower plantings attract bees and other beneficial pollinators, adding beauty while helping support fruit and vegetable production throughout the garden.

06

Farm to your table

We grow here, harvest seasonally and offer local pickup so families can enjoy fresher food and know more about the farm behind it.
